The concept of a Solar Water Heater is converting the solar energy to heat energy, which is used to heat water for our daily consumption.
Solar Energy is nothing but the energy produced by the sun, which is a source for our planet; as it is accountable for providing energy for the whole of humanity.
Solar Water Heater has been around since the last century; however the last few decades have seen a substantial advancement in technology, resulting in the conversion of more than 50% of the solar energy available for domestic hot water usage.
The benefits of a Solar Water Heater are to provide financial savings to one’s domestic energy cost by eradicating the use of electricity, heating oil or gas. It is also an effective way of erasing your household carbon footprint.
How do solar water heating systems work?
Solar water heating systems use collectors or solar panels which are fitted to the roof. They collect heat which is emanating from the sun and use to heat water and is stored in a hot water cylinder.
There are two types of solar water heating panels:
1. Evacuated tubes
2. Flat plate collectors
